The 2024 Thanksgiving football games will be held on Thursday, November 28th. The NFL matchups will begin at 12:30 PM and 4:30 PM EST, while the college football game will start at 8:00 PM EST.
The NFL games will be televised on FOX and CBS, respectively. The college football game will be televised on ESPN.
“The Cowboys-Giants rivalry is always a must-watch on Thanksgiving,” said NFL analyst Chris Simms. “Both teams are expected to be competitive this year, so it should be a great game.”
“The Bills are one of the favorites in the AFC, so they’ll be a tough test for the Lions on Thanksgiving,” added NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
“Alabama and Florida are two of the most storied programs in college football,” said ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit. “Their matchup on Thanksgiving will be a true classic.”
The NFL has been playing Thanksgiving games since 1920, with the Lions hosting the first game against the Chicago Cardinals. The college football matchup on Thanksgiving dates back to 1992, with Florida State facing Florida.
The Cowboys and Giants have been playing on Thanksgiving since 1966, and have met for Thanksgiving games more than any other two teams. The Cowboys hold the all-time Thanksgiving record against the Giants, with a record of 12-3.
Alabama and Florida have met on Thanksgiving twice before, with Alabama winning both games. The Crimson Tide are a heavy favorite to win the matchup again this year.
