Taylor Hall’s Fifth Career Hat Trick Leads Blackhawks Over Stars 6

Taylor Hall tallied his fifth career hat trick as the Chicago Blackhawks skated to a resounding 6-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night at the United Center.

Hall’s offensive outburst began midway through the first period when he redirected a pass from Connor Murphy past Braden Holtby. He added his second goal early in the second period with a wrist shot from the slot and completed his hat trick with an empty-netter in the final seconds of the game.

“It feels great to contribute like that,” said Hall. “I’m just trying to do my part and help the team win.”

In addition to Hall’s heroics, the Blackhawks received scoring from Patrick Kane, Seth Jones, and Max Domi. Kane and Jones each had a goal and an assist, while Domi contributed a goal and two assists.

“We had a lot of good looks tonight,” said Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson. “We were able to capitalize on our chances and that was the difference.”

The Stars, who entered the game fresh off a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers, were unable to keep pace with the Blackhawks. Jason Robertson scored both of Dallas’s goals, but the team’s offense was largely ineffective.

“We didn’t play our best game tonight,” said Stars coach Rick Bowness. “We weren’t able to generate enough offense and our defense wasn’t sharp.”

With the win, the Blackhawks moved into eighth place in the Western Conference, while the Stars fell to ninth. Both teams will be back in action on Friday night, with Chicago hosting the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas facing the Seattle Kraken.
