Lehigh Football Dominates Wagner For First Win Of Season

Under the guidance of interim head coach Tom Gilmore, the Mountain Hawks orchestrated a dominant performance, outplaying Wagner in every facet of the game. Quarterback Dante Perri led the offensive charge, throwing for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Cole Siegfried added 103 rushing yards, including a game-clinching 40-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.

“I’m incredibly proud of our players today,” Gilmore said. “They showed tremendous resilience and executed our game plan to perfection. This is a huge step for our program.”

The Mountain Hawks defense stifled the Wagner offense, holding them to just 269 total yards. Linebacker Pete Haffner led the defense with 14 tackles, while defensive end Zayne Bradley recorded two sacks.

“Our defense was lights out,” Gilmore added. “They created turnovers and gave our offense great field position.”

The win is a major morale booster for the Mountain Hawks, who had endured a tough start to the season. Lehigh had lost its first three games by an average of 18.3 points.

“This win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players and coaches,” said Lehigh athletic director Joe Sterrett. “We’re excited to see what the rest of the season holds.”

Lehigh will face off against Villanova next Saturday at Villanova Stadium.
