Lehigh Returns Home For Key Clash With Colgate On Salute To Service

“This is always a special game for our team,” said Lehigh head coach Tom Gilmore. “We’re proud to support our military and veterans, and we know that they will be behind us as we take on Colgate.”

The Mountain Hawks (3-3, 1-1 Patriot League) enter the game after a tough road loss to Fordham last weekend. However, Lehigh has won three of its last four home games and will be looking to keep that momentum going against Colgate.

“We had a tough loss last week, but we’re not hanging our heads,” said Lehigh senior captain and linebacker Pete Haffner. “We’re excited to be back at Goodman Stadium in front of our fans and to honor our military.”

The Raiders (2-4, 1-1 Patriot League) come to Bethlehem looking to bounce back from a loss to Holy Cross last week. Colgate is led by sophomore quarterback Ryan Durkin, who has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.

“Colgate is a well-coached team with a lot of talented players,” said Gilmore. “We’ll need to be at our best if we want to win this game.”

The Salute to Service game will be a special event for both the Lehigh and Colgate communities. The game will feature a pregame ceremony honoring veterans, and there will be a postgame fireworks show.

“We encourage all of our fans to come out and support our team and our military,” said Lehigh athletic director Joe Sterrett. “This is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for those who have served our country.”

The game will be televised on ESPN+ and will also be broadcast on the Lehigh Sports Network.
