
Threatt Leads Weber State Against Utah Tech After 23. Comple complexities
Weber State continued its dominance over Utah Tech, winning 77-55 on Tuesday night at the Dee Events Center. The win was the Wildcats’ third straight over the Trailblazers and improved their record to 10-1 on the season. Utah Tech fell to 3-8 with the loss.
Sophomore guard JJ Threatt led the way for Weber State with 23 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Senior forward Dillon Jones added 17 points and nine rebounds, while junior guard Cody Carlson chipped in 15 points.
Utah Tech was led by senior guard Cameron Gooden, who scored 17 points. Junior forward Tanner Christensen added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Weber State shot 47.1% from the field, including 38.5% from three-point range. Utah Tech shot just 34.5% from the field, including 20.0% from three-point range.

“Our defense was really good tonight,” Weber State coach Randy Rahe said. “We held them to a low shooting percentage and we forced them into a lot of turnovers. That’s what we need to do to be successful.”
Utah Tech’s Struggles
Utah Tech has now lost four straight games and is 3-8 on the season. The Trailblazers have struggled to score the ball consistently, and they have also been hurt by injuries.
“We’re just not playing well right now,” Utah Tech coach John Barnes said. “We’re not making shots, and we’re not defending well. We need to find a way to turn things around.”
