Eugene, Oregon – Oregon Football head coach, Dan Lanning, has officially announced his decision to remain at the University of Oregon. After weeks of speculation linking Lanning to other high-profile coaching positions, the Ducks’ sideline leader has reaffirmed his commitment to the Oregon program.
When asked about his reasons for choosing Oregon, Lanning emphasized the strength of the Oregon community and the unfinished business that he and his staff have with the Ducks.
“I came to Oregon for a reason,” Lanning said. “I believe in this team, I believe in this program, and I believe in this community. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I’m committed to building a championship culture here in Eugene.”
Lanning also cited Oregon’s commitment to player development as a major factor in his decision. He praised the university’s academic support system and the opportunities that his players have to succeed on and off the field.
“We want to develop champions on and off the field,” Lanning said. “Oregon provides our players with the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential.”
Lanning’s decision to stay is a major boost for the Oregon football program. His presence provides stability and continuity for the Ducks, who have shown significant improvement in his first season as head coach.
Oregon Athletic Director, Rob Mullens, expressed his gratitude for Lanning’s commitment.
“Coach Lanning is a rising star in the coaching profession,” Mullens said. “His dedication to Oregon is a testament to his belief in the potential of this program.”
With Lanning at the helm, Oregon Football is poised to continue its upward trajectory. The Ducks have a strong returning core in 2023 and will be looking to make a run at a Pac-12 championship and a College Football Playoff berth.
Lanning’s decision to stay in Eugene has sent a clear message to the Duck faithful and the college football world: Oregon Football is a program on the rise, and Dan Lanning is determined to lead them to the top.
