Mike Locksley Calls Out James Franklin, PSU For 'Bulls

Locksley’s comments came during a press conference following Maryland’s 31-26 loss to Penn State in College Park. The Terrapins coach alleged that the Nittany Lions engaged in unsportsmanlike behavior, including trash talk and physical altercations, during the game.

“There were things said and done that were inappropriate,” said Locksley. “It’s not the way we want to play this game.”

Franklin strongly denied Locksley’s allegations, calling them “unfounded and baseless.”

“We’ve never engaged in any unsportsmanlike conduct,” said Franklin. “We respect our opponents and play the game with integrity.”

Despite Franklin’s denials, Locksley has called for an investigation into the matter. He has urged the Big Ten Conference to review the game footage and hold Penn State accountable if his accusations are found to be true.

“We need to make sure that these kinds of behaviors are not tolerated in our league,” said Locksley.

The allegations and subsequent denials have cast a shadow over the historic rivalry between Maryland and Penn State. The Big Ten Conference has yet to comment on the matter, but it is likely to launch an investigation if sufficient evidence is presented.

If Penn State is found to have engaged in unsportsmanlike conduct, it could face sanctions, including fines, suspensions, or even postseason exclusions. The outcome of the investigation will have a significant impact on the relationship between the two programs.
