New Nebraska OC Dana Holgorsen Is Blunt And ‘all Ball’

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — From the moment Dana Holgorsen arrived at Nebraska, he’s made it clear what he’s all about.

‘All Ball’

“I’m a football coach,” Holgorsen said at his introductory press conference. “I’m here to win football games. That’s it.”

Holgorsen’s approach is a refreshing change for a Nebraska program that has struggled in recent years. The Huskers have gone 15-21 in the past three seasons.

“He’s not afraid to tell you what he thinks,” said senior quarterback Adrian Martinez. “He’s honest with you. He’s going to push you to be your best.”

Blunt and Direct

Holgorsen is known for his blunt and direct style. He’s not afraid to call out players when they’re not performing up to his standards.

“I’m not going to sugarcoat anything,” Holgorsen said. “I’m going to tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.”

Holgorsen’s approach has been met with mixed reactions from players. Some have welcomed his honesty, while others have found it to be too harsh.

“He’s a tough coach,” said junior wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. “But I know he wants us to be the best we can be. I appreciate his honesty.”

Offensive Guru

Holgorsen is considered one of the best offensive minds in college football. He has a proven track record of success at West Virginia and Houston.

“He’s a great offensive coach,” said Nebraska head coach Scott Frost. “He knows how to score points. He’s going to bring a lot of excitement to our offense.”

Holgorsen’s offenses are known for their up-tempo pace and high-scoring output. He likes to spread the ball around to all of his playmakers.

“We’re going to be a lot more aggressive on offense,” Martinez said. “We’re going to throw the ball down the field more. We’re going to be a lot more fun to watch.”

Outlook

Nebraska fans are excited about the potential of Holgorsen’s offense. The Huskers have a talented group of playmakers on offense, including Martinez, Robinson, and running back Dedrick Mills.

If Holgorsen can get his offense clicking, Nebraska could be a surprise team in the Big Ten West this season.

“I’m excited to see what this offense can do,” Frost said. “I think we have the potential to be one of the best offenses in the country.”
