Philadelphia 76ers Face Injury Woes

The Philadelphia 76ers are facing a slew of injury concerns as they prepare to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

All-Star center Joel Embiid has been ruled out for the third time against the Cavs this season and the 10th consecutive game overall due to knee management.

Embiid has been on an injury management plan since the start of the year after undergoing knee surgery last season. He suffered a sprained foot on Christmas Day and aggravated it, causing him to miss six games in a row.

Just when Embiid was ready to return, he experienced swelling in his knee again, ruling him out for at least three games.

Paul George, another key player for the Sixers, has also been dealing with a groin-related setback.

Paul George Expected to Play

George has missed some games this month due to his injury, but he is expected to play against the Cavs.

He missed a game on January 8th and the first night of a back-to-back set against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

George returned to face the New York Knicks but was downgraded on the injury report for the next game against the Indiana Pacers.

He missed the games against the Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks but played 28 minutes against the Denver Nuggets.

Despite the injuries, the Sixers are expected to have a full roster for their matchup against the Cavs, except for Embiid.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 PM ET.
